BASE ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Playhem. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform at docs.playhem.com.au.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use our service:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you register.
• Workspace data: Documents, checklists, and other content you create or import into your workspace.
• Google Drive data: When you connect Google Drive, we access your Google Docs files (read-only) to import them into your workspace. We store the document content locally after import. We also store your Google account email and OAuth tokens to maintain the connection.
• Usage data: Basic activity such as login times and feature usage to maintain the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the BASE service.
• Import and sync documents from Google Drive when you request it.
• Authenticate your account and manage workspace access.
• Send service-related notifications (e.g. checklist assignments, required readings).

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Google Drive Access

When you connect Google Drive, our application requests read-only access to your Google Drive files. Specifically:

• We list your Google Docs files so you can choose which ones to import.
• We export the content of selected documents to display them in your workspace.
• We download images from your documents to store them locally for display.
• We do not modify, delete, or share your Google Drive files.
• You can disconnect Google Drive at any time from your workspace settings. This revokes our access to your Google account.

Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Your data is stored on secure servers.
• Passwords and PINs are hashed using bcrypt and cannot be viewed by anyone, including us.
• Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and are only used to access your Google Drive on your behalf.
• We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

5. Data Retention

Your workspace data is retained for as long as your account is active. Deleted documents enter a 7-day grace period before permanent removal. If you delete your account or workspace, all associated data is permanently removed.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Disconnect third-party services (Google Drive) at any time.
• Export your data by contacting us.

7. Third-Party Services

We integrate with the following third-party services:

• Google Drive / Google Docs: For document import, as described above.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their use of your data.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
